In Memoriam

Friends and family of Jan Reynolds announce that Jan passed away on Monday, March 21, 2011 "after a challenging past two years trying to mend her failing heart. Sadly, the health of Jan's heart declined to a point it could no longer support her and a donor could not be found in time. These past 6 months, especially, have required around the clock care for Jan; and Bill and their son, Matthew, have been vigilant in carefully watching over her. Jan and her son Matthew both work in our Continuing Education department at Georgia Southern University, and any of you who had the privilege to know Jan, know what an incredibly bright star she was to everyone with whom she worked and played, and she will be greatly missed." A Memorial Service will was held on Saturday, March 26 at 1:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist (UU) Church, located at 609 East Grady Street, Statesboro, GA.

Coworkers and friends contacted the Transplant Association to see about the donations contributed by generous donors toward Jan's heart transplant. The funds cannot be returned, but were able to be used toward Jan's funeral expenses: $1,800 worth of expenses were covered, taking a huge burden off of Jan's family! We thought those who had been donating to this cause would be happy to know that their money still went to Jan and her family.

If you are interested in making a donation to memorialize Jan, friends and family ask that you support these causes:

Roberts Wesylan College, Janice & Bill Reynolds UG alma mater.

Please note in their comments block, "donation is to honor Janice Wilbur-Reynolds and go towards the scholarship fund Bill Reynolds is currently working to designate in honor of Janice." A $500 level is required to do this, and he'll supplement the funds to ensure this is reached.
